Oh my goshhh. Camera room training lulz -dies-

Since this holiday madness is going to be over soon things are going to be dying down at the studio... a lot. Like, to the point where there will be times where theres only one person at the studio.

And so Nikki [the new manager. She's awesome... she actually worked at the studio but then left to manage Eden Prarie, and now is managing us too] just called me to find out my availability, and asked me if I would be willing to be trained into the camera room so that I can work more.

SCARY. Guh. I mean, I'm sure I'll do fine... but... I'm not a very photographer-y person. lulz. Oh well.

I pleaded not guilty in court today.
Get to go back on Jan. 15th.

Oh, and something occurred to me.
Since my charge of "No proof of insurance in the vehicle" is a misdemeanor...
If they don't believe me...I could go to jail.

So, we'll see if the state of minnesota gets to throw me in jail for false accusations or not, in one month.

That's aweful Marshal, I certainly hope things work out for you; did you find out if there was a minimum/maximum penalty attached? I'd offer to come in as a charecter witness for you, but it doesn't sound like that's necessary. I mean, this should be about

"the defendant did not have proof of insurance in his car."

as opposed to

"Yes I did."

I just got done framing most of my pictures. Yay!
I just need to buy three frames, and then I'm done.

And then I have to wait for my massive wall portrait of death to come in, and find a way to sneak it into my house. lolll.

But, now something else I noticed tonight.
As I drove home from St. Francis.

...There was something I realized.

The area I crashed in was a 45 mph...
I had told the police that I was going between 50-55mph...
but I was hyped up on adrenaline and had way too many things on my mind...
One of the most vivid things I remember from that night is my dash, seconds before the impact that pushed me into the road on my driver's side...
I can vaguely remember the speedometer saying 50mph.

Now, for those of you that don't know, my speedometer reads 5mph over...


So I'm trying to find what happened here?

Am I remembering wrong?
Was I confused after the crash and gave the police the info from my dash- the wrong info?
Was I actually speeding?
Would anyone believe me if I told them this in court?


Bah.

Well, at least I know one thing for sure:
I did have insurance in the car.


I wasn't able to present it to a police officer because my truck was on it's side, the ambulance beat them there (Remember, I was bleeding) , and I left the scene before my truck was righted.


So that should clear up...
What should I do about the whole speeding thing?

Ugh, speeding thing. Well Marshal, as a generally moral [and religious] person, I am honor-bound to advise you to at least not lie in court. Especially not when you go and provide evidence to the contrary on a publicly-accessed site (that Orbit's guy reminds us of this).

I would say nothing about it unless you are asked about it. If asked about it, I would admit that my memory was hazy, but that I think the spedometer read about 50 miles per hour. It'd be up to you to mention the fact that your spedometer reads over. If you do, I'd use the term "a few miles over" instead of "about 5 miles over," because quite frankly, when you say your spedometer is exactly 5 miles "fast," and you were going approximately five miles above the limit according to it, it begins to sound like you're interpreting the evidence in your favor, which the judge may not take to too well. *shrug* But take everything I say with a grain of salt, as I've never been in an accident nor dragged into court, exept for class visits.

He wasn't as hard on grading as I thought he was.

Yes, Ryan. As I myself am not all too morally corrupt, I wouldn't lie in court.
I believe I'm going to tell them that my memory was hazy after the crash, and I wasn't thinking too straight...but, I believe my speedometer read 50mph. And I know that my truck's speedometer reads a few mph over what my actual speed is.
So, I may have been speeding.

You know what's really silly? What the explorer's speedometer does when it's cold out.
One time when i was driving to school, I turned on to 47, and started to get up to speed. The speedometer went all the way past the highest digits (85), all the way down, and got stuck on the other side. (Under 0)

Didn't get some sort of lawyer? jebus...

I have a feeling that I'd pay more in lawyer's fees than the fine itself.

Ya, spedometers can do some crazy things like that. Once, for no reason, the spedometer stopped working on me and went down to 0 MPH. It started working again in a little while, but it scared the heck outta me (driving without a working spedometer is, you know, illegal).

Well, this evening I am finishing up my paper (ya...right...I can't focus on that paper, my attention span is shot. I need to disconnect my internet if I really want to get this done right).

Tommorrow, Friday, I go home. Kevin has dibs on me that day (if he can find me, at least; I may be conveniently "missing" ;-) ), on Saturday I help out at the Epiphany Food Shelf. On Sunday, some guys from Epiphany (the private junior high school I attended) are getting back together, and i hope to go to that. Monday the 22 and tuesdasy the 23 I have no plans, but I need to do Christmas shopping sometime right? The 24th is Christmas eve, spent with my fathers side of the family. Christmas day is likewise consumed by...something. The 26-30th I have free for whatever, so far as I know, and we might be able to do something for new years, but that's usually a family night.

On the first and third saturday of january, I hope to be at the gamers den attending a 4th edition DnD game (if the guy still plans on running it at that time). Outside of that, I'm open. It'd be nice to get together sometime relatively soon here.

Alas, I am busy tomorrow, because Amber Miller is apparently having a nerdy get together at 3pm. Maybe you'll conveniently have to show up? Uh, lemme think...Court on the 15th of January, I think Elliott wants to hang out this weekend, My aunt is having a birthday party I'd like to stop in and say hi on Jan. 3rd.

Yeah, I'm pretty much open other than that. Besides, perhaps, Christmas Day. I forget.

I am free the 26th-2nd, essentially.
I might have some people over for New Years. Like Xander, Isaac and Ben V. Plus anyone who wasn't too busy. Amanda? Justin? Ben?

I vaguely recall hearing about that party from Cassie when I saw her as a debate judge. She couldn't give me any details (like time, or place, or anything really) but it sounds like fun. Sadly, as I've said, Kevin has first dibs on my person that day, if I decide to do anything other than go home and crash; besides, I'd hate to show up to a party for which I was not invited.

I'll give you a ring when I get things figured out, probably a day between the 26th and 30th, or sometime just after new year's day. Other than court, anything new or interesting in your life?
