Silly Amanderson and her Hippogriff.
Speaking of DnD... How was the event on Saturday Ryan? I heard you managed to drag Kevin along with you to the Gamer's Den.
And Ben, the first word that came into my mind was "derive". IE: Never try to derive logic from Dungeons and Dragons.
Silly Ben, logic goes into DnD and never, ever comes out.
Get better soon Ryan, and good luck writing your mega-huge death paper of a lifetime, Amanda. I know I could never finish anything like that, most likely. Ya, I dragged Kevin with my kicking and screaming (no, I totally did not coerce him into giving me a ride...those rumors have been blown completely out of proportion >->) I got to play a Storm Genasi spellblade, and that was fun. My dad made fun of me (he showed up for the second half) because he thought that I "never did any damage." Haha, ya, lol, tell that to my 36 damage booming blades =D In some ways, it sucked though. There was supposed to be three parts to the adventure, each taking three hours. First one finished on schedule because he cut out a third of the adventure, and we never made it to the third one because the second segment took seven friggin' hours. Fortunately, we had a valid excuse. See, as the adventure is now no longer running, I can feel free to spoil all sorts of surprises in it for you. So long, long, 11 hour plot synopsis short, we get down to the final encounter of the second half of the adventure. We get to the end, and the "boss," if you will, is standing inside her summoning circle on the far side of the room (about 15 squares or so away from us). Enter the customary monolgue. Long rant short, she's been pulling the politcal strings all along to get her hands back on the "diadem of dreams," and ancient artifact, in order to get back to the feywild or some such nonsense. In order to ensure that we don't stop her, of course, she goes and erects a wall of magical energy in front of us (wis/cha check 15 to pass through) and surrounds herself in another such wall. Then she summons 9 minions and two lesser, non-minion creatures; we were a party of five. You can imagine how happy we were about this. So of course, there has to be a catch, because it's already too hard. We have six turns, 30 seconds, before the ritual suceeds (and throws us into the third part of the adventure, but that point the den was closing and we didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of making it there). Yaaa, that didn't sound fun. So we spend two turns just getting me and the cleric through the wall while everyone else is still stuck behind it, leaving us to solo everything on the other side; not fun, but we opened up a hole in their defenses in time for turn 3. Then the player-inspired bull**** came in. First it was Kevin (naturally). He slipped past the barrier, double moved on a run past all of the enemies, and got inside the second barrier to end adjacent to the "boss" on the third turn. Not to be outdone, the cleric followed suit. Then, my dad broke through the barrier, run for it, and to avoid having to make a second wis/cha check, he teleports inside the bubble. So now the ritual's only been active for two turns, and over half the party's already inside the final defense. Hehe Of course, the little ***** teleports herself out the next turn, but guess where I still am? Three turns later (the ritual timer stayed the same because she wasn't actually casting it anymore), we had killed all the other enemies and all of us were still alive. Kevin gets a lucky slow strike off that keeps the warlock from escaping, and we finish her. So ya, the RPGA threw us lemons, and our rogue stole the lemons and price gouged them ^^. It's fun knowing that if you put your mind to it, you can still screw the DM in fourth edition. EDIT: *looks at the size of post* I'm a nerd aren't I?

| Noes! Thursday bad. Thursday good. Thursday bad because Thursaday good.
Ya, so I've got a huge paper that's due friday, which will mean an all-nighter (I think for the first time in a long time I mean that literally) but of course, because thursday is the Tabletop Gaming Club Meeting, I will have to skip it to get the paper done. Or else, I'll go and be even more doomed than I am now; I reeeeeally hope I don't succumb to that.
Guess what the day after tommorrow is?
Not Friday silly, Halloween! What'ch'ya'll doin'?

| Oh no, you see... Thursday is NEVER bad. My whole life Thursday has been my favorite day. It just seems like the best things always happen on Thrusdays. And that holds true now as well. Do you know whyyyyyyyyy?
ENGLISH. Yup. -squees-
But anyway, on Halloween I have a Main_Frame meeting. Other than that, I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing.

| Yes, I know its bad (exept maybe in Egypt, but nobody every talks about Egypt. Seriously, why can't I find a single arcticle or even just a number on the malnutrition rate in Egypt? That's all I'm asking! There's plenty of sources about Sudan!) but I don't think that's gonna fly with my teacher exactly. he's more of the "I don't care what you think, I barely care how you tie it together, I care what the experts say" sort of guy. That wouldn't be so bad if I could find where these mythical experts are, lol. | |
