PostSubject: Re: College   01/07/10, 01:04 am

so yeah my final paper had me type about 5 different events that happen on 5 continents

none of the events could overlap like i could only talk about war once and country formation once
so my topics were

Europe - Chernobyl
Asia - Tienanmen Square protests
South America - Super Bees
Africa - AIDS
Middle East - Israel's brief expansion

Amanda right?
i almost reached the word maximum with my paper

Pretty Amanda Justin, other than you seemingly completely ignored the parameters of the assignment.

I hope you get a decent grade somehow.

Professor wrote:
Hello Folks!

Here it is, your final exam. Note the minimum
length pls. Thanks!
Min length 1500 words.
Due July 1 at noon.
Citations as necessary. >rtf, .docx, .doc or .txt files ONLY--do
NOT use any other format. If you are unsure...get help!
There will be NO LATE EXAMS ACCEPTED for any reason.

Here we go.
There are five main regions of the world that we
have dealt with so far in this course:
1. Europe,
2. Asia,
3. Africa,
4. South America, Central America and the Carribean
5. Middle East.

Step 1.
For EACH region, find one event
from the last 53 years (back to 1955) that relates to either revolution,
religion, or local/regional political views (i.e. one country may be
communist, another may be a democracy). (5 regions = 5 events) Make
sure you know what countries belong in what regions! Get out an atlas to
help visualize if you need to.

Step 2.
Briefly describe
the event.

Step 3a and 3b.
Next, discuss what effect these
events had on the world at the time they happened (3a), and down to
today (3b).

You may not use one type of event more than twice in your paper.
I.E. You may not use revolution more than twice, religion more than
twice or local/regional poiltics more than twice.

Just a point
of clarification. Unlike the midterm, do not choose events that could be
considered instant...like hur dur explosions/hijackings. Unless they
last quite a few days, they generally don't last long enough to have a
huge regional impact. Suitable topics would be analogous to Revolutions,
wars, rebellions, or really anything that has some staying power. If
you feel you can make your case for a shorter event, feel free, but make
sure you support your points well.

You may NOT use any work
you have already personally done in a previous assignment. I expect you
all to do your own work, and to use your considerable talents and
intelligence to find examples that will work for you that you have not
personally worked on before. You may write on a topic someone else has
worked on, but your work needs to be your own. Even paraphrasing another
classmates work will be considered plagiarism. I am excited to read
what I am sure will be excellent work on everyone's part.

Good
luck! Page, call, or IM me if you have questions.
Bruce

I think Xander might have been getting at the...

Step 1.
For EACH region, find one event
from the last 53 years
(back to 1955) that relates to either revolution,
religion, or
local/regional political views
(i.e. one country may be
communist,
another may be a democracy). (5 regions = 5 events) Make
sure you
know what countries belong in what regions! Get out an atlas to
help
visualize if you need to.

part, though I'm not in your class, or have seen your paper, so idk really

PostSubject: Re: College   01/07/10, 09:11 pm

thats what i was thinking initially then i saw this in the paper description

You may not use one type of event more than twice in your paper. I.E.
You may not use revolution more than twice, religion more than twice or
local/regional poiltics more than twice.

basically saying dont pick war for multiple regions ( dont pick the same thing for different regions like a riot in europe and a riot in africa)

i could've mis interpreted it but i think i got it right
