College

Yep, it's finally happened: college. I'm typing to you straight from the heart of campus, and in honor of this simultaneously sad and exiting time, I'm starting a thread for people to talk (or complain) about their college experiances. As the host, of course I'll have to go first.

I've been here only half a day, but somehow in that time, I've already managed to sniff out another freshman who loves chess, computer games, and various other strategy games. He even has a month's experiance in DnD (although he suspects it was an older edition like 2.0)! Woot!

Speaking of DnD, I don't know where I am in location to any of you anymore, so I'll need all sorts of help if we ever plan to get together as a group again. Additionally, Wizards of the Coast is further unveiling their plans of coordinated Dungeons and Dragons gaming, with something like a "Living Forgotten Realms Launch Party" coming up in the middle of October. Well, you're only a bus ride or two from both Marshall and myself.

I know theres a route [the 21, I think] that goes from St. Thomas to the uptown transit station, which is near my house. And I'm sure theres gotta be a bus going from St. Thomas to downtown, which is where you could catch a bus out to Marshall's house. Hell, your school might even have some sort of shuttle going from the campus you're at, to their downtown campus. Who knows. But even if they don't it wouldn't be even remotely hard to get down there.

If you ever need help figuring bus crap out just give me a ring, or ask me via here, and I'll try to help you out to the best of my abilities. :D

ok, so advice for college...........summer semester or no?

it depends if you wanty your degree faster or not

i personally am going to summer semester... however it will be some small classes

maybe 1 or 2 at tops

I enjoyed my summer semester. :]

If you're overwhelmed by your current semester, I'd say no.
But other than that, it gets it done faster.

i mostly want to do it to get flight time, but i also want to go back to work

So guys ... I have to write an argumentative paper in English ... it's due in 3 weeks and needs to be 3 pages .... have any clue what I should write about? I'm sooo lost for ideas, and everyone asks, "what are you passionate about?" but really ... ummm I'm not passionate about argumentative stuuuuuuff >.<

[though one time on Gaia I wrote a pro-choice argument that literally would have lasted three pages... if not more. LOL. My abortion argument kicks ass, because I talk about the economy. Huzzah thinking outside of the box!]

Ehhhh.

It's better then nothing though ... I don't know ... I have no clue what I'm going to freaking do for this paper.

And I'm sooo fucked if I don't pick a topic like NOW because we are doing peer editing next Tuesday.

i just found out that there is a good chance i will have to go to 'finals' even if my class doesn't have one because its required by the university to hold class during 'finals'

but on a good note, my paper due date is put back a week

nice to my knowledge i only have 1 final and that is in math

So for my research paper I'm thinking of doing symbol meanings of the four suits of tarot.

What do you think?
