As Xander and I said, November 4th was an amazing day.

However, November 5th would not be quite so nice.


Technically, I was really lucky.

I got away with a flesh wound.


12:00 A.M.

I was driving home from St. Francis, on HWY 47, in Ramsey, just before Bunker Lake Blvd. crosses it. My car suddenly lost control, veering right into the ditch, and I tried to correct it. As I, at 55 mph, tried to steer back onto the road, the front right corner of my car struck a very...hard object. Pole like, perhaps. I didn't get a good look at it, as my car was thrown to the road, driver side down. I was buckled in. The driver side window shattered, and my left forearm was lacerated and scrapped along the pavement/glass mix.


The car skidded to a stop, sparks flying. It got a tad bit warm.

I was greeted by headlights, a few shadows and voices, as I shut off my truck , unbuckled my belt, unlocked the door, and climbed out the passenger side (with some help) which was now the top of my truck. I called and told my mom, as I bled steadily from my new wound which didn't actually hurt that much. Someone who lived nearby called 911. We had backed away, as my truck leaked fuel across HWY 47. The cops showed up, asked the usual questions, and the ambulance showed up, and asked the usual questions. I was taken to Mercy hospital, (Where upon arrival, it turns out they thought I was "red" unlike what the paramedic had reported as "green". I was greeted by eight doctors and an emergency room. Seven of them left, and we continued) where I had to have x-rays, and have glass shards cut out of my arm by a scalpel, and receive my first and only two sets of sutures.


So, the truck is probably totaled.
I have yet to receive word about any of the contents of my truck, as follows:
PS3 and components.

DS Lite.

Xbox360 and components.
(Under warranty, which is in the car as well)
DND 4th Ed. Books.

Car Insurance Policy Cards.

and other random junk.


I did not injure any other people.

Just me.

And my truck.

And maybe a pole.


Thank goodness.


Cause of accident currently unknown. Predicted auto part failure.


I spent three hours in a hospital, getting x-rayed, stitched, cut, and asked questions.

Yeah, the truck pulled hard right, into the ditch, and as I was getting it under control and back onto the road, I hit some pole-like-object, and flipped it back into the middle of the road, on the driver's side.

Saw the truck today.
Damn that thing is almost invincible.

It still runs. ^_^;

Everything inside was unharmed (Except me, of course).
Xbox360, PS3, DS, and all components are fine.
Minus one copy of Pokemon Diamond, that got ejected from the DS.

There are some appearance flaws from the truck grinding along the road.

Driver side mirror and window broken.

Muffler broken off.

Front driver side tire, shredded.

The frame was both compacted, and twisted.

Windshield did not break, but popped out of place.

Broken passenger side headlight.

Passenger side front corner compacted from initial impact.

Front tires misaligned. A lot.

and a shit ton of internal front end damage.

Probably cost $3,000 to fix it.


Guy said it wasn't worth it.

I had a good two and half years in that truck, though.

It's Computer Apps time.

My road rash scabbed up. The stitches don't even hurt when I touch them now. It's still a tiny bit tender, and I'll get the stitches out on Wednesday.
And then on Thursday, Ben and Justin are coming over for some WoW: Wrath of the Lich King for a few days.

And then my next planned event is court on Dec. 17th.


Hm, I wonder if I should go buy Guitar Hero: World Tour?

I mean, Rockband 2 has better songs, but the instruments for Guitar Hero have always been better.
So, that means buying Guitar Hero: World Tour and then buying a Rockband 2 disk.

Hm...Perhaps.

Wow Marshal, that's pretty significant. I can't believe it took me this long to get back on the forums and see that you were in an accident. I'd say "feel better," but it seems my concern is already too late.

Regarding Guitar/Rockband, I can't give you much help. I've played them both, and my sister owns Rockband (can't remember if it's 1 or 2, isn't that terrible?), but I don't know which one is honestly better. I will agree with you hands down that the guitar hero guitar can withstand a lot more button-mashing without wearing down.

There are actually calculation for how much each cigarete you smoke takes off of your lifespan on average, you know that? I forget whether its 1 or 3 minutes for each cigarete you smoke, but that fact that some people smoke one or two packs a day...it adds up quick. To prove how important all those minutes are to you, all you need to do is procrastinate a college paper until the last minute, and you'll figure out how much those minutes really mean.

Well, Amanda, you've freely admitted that you are, quite frankly, the best, and that whatever you do is great simply because of the fact that you are Amanda. I don't have to worry about sleep tonight. I don't have work or school tomorrow. Huzzah! They're giving us Monday off for Veteran's day instead of Tuesday, because Thanksgiving is on a Thursday and they didn't want to give us two days off from the same shift of classes in one month, y'know?

As for the whole comedy issue, I think usually laugh at your jokes, don't I. So theres some self-esteem points for you. And since they're coming from me they count for double of whatever normal self-esteem points are.

My self-esteem level is > 9000.
People should start buying stock in this shit. It's much more stable than the stock market.

Your lack of a prompt reply had me thinking that the original "*cross fingers*" might still be lingering negatively with you. I'm glad it isn't, but it turns out that on one occasion I apparently came off as sounding...I forget the exact wording, let me look it up: *looks up*:

Basically, I'd posted a page worth of theoretical philosophical arguement on the website (and I was writing really small that day, becuase I only had the one sheet, so in all honesty it was probably two pages worth of content) and I was looking for people's thoughts on what the proffesor called the next day my "doctoral thesis." Anyways, I only got one guy responding, and he said that he couldn't understand it.

So of course, I laugh and say that ya, I have a problem with sometimes using too many "verbal flourishes" and that back home, people would make fun of me for using "big words;" I think proceeded to type what I termed the "sparknotes" version.

I had intended to make fun of myself there, because I thought he couldn't understand what I was saying (turns out he didnt read it at all and was commenting on the length of it) and another student pointed out that I came off as sounding really, well, you see it above: arrogant. Soooo, I went and appologized, but haven't gotten any response yet, and not sure I will.

Anyways, that a much longer post than i'd anticipated But there you go.
