Guess what! I have a squishy ribcage!!!
Is that ok? A small amount of give in a sub-adult's ribcage is normal. The only reason I know this is because if you do CPR on an adult, you will probably break their ribs. On younger children, it's less likely. Due to the amount of force and such. In other words... How squishy?

| In an unreleated story, I purchased two twelve packs of Jones DND Soda.
Thus far I have had Eldritch Blast (Green Apple) and I'm about to have some Illithid Brain Juice (Grape).
Other delicious flavors include: Dwarven Draught (Root Beer), Sneak Attack (Cream), Potion of Healing (Black Cherry), Bigby's Crushing Thirst Destroyer (Cola).
All of them have silly effects on the back too. Such as feeling smarter for 1d10 minutes, or after reducing this bottle to 0 oz, you can grab a full one as a free action. (Illithid Brain Juice and Eldritch Blast respectively.)

Pretty squishy, like at least an inch of give on both sides, I was surprised.

So are shotguns required attire then, or merely optional?

| Months and months and months ago I went into the doctors.
My dad said he would pay the bill.
Month after month I've given him said bill.
He never paid it.
I now have a collection agency after me. :

| Hm, interesting.
It appears that Touhou is quite popular with /u/. (Less shocking is Railgun, Sasameki Koto, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Strawberry Panic, Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, Haruhi, K-ON, and many others I don't know.)
My question I pose to you (Most likely Xander and Justin) is... Why?
Isn't Touhou just a bunch of bullet-hell games?

| I think my theology class is trying to turn me into a vegetarian. My philosophy class is doing little anymore except making me skeptical of damn near everything. Astronomy isn't helping things along either, because now, all of a sudden, science stops making sense (or rather, too much sense).
Xander: Computer is working fine. I'm going to have to get Microsoft Works onto here somehow, because your default document opener can't open the file I need (it had a password on it, and there's no way that I can tell to enter it w/out works).
The spell-checker for forum-chat is a nice touch, and has saved me from some embarrassment. Now if only it could save me from my own logical stupidity.
Downloading Guild Wars again was a pain, and is an ongoing process, but thankfully I only needed to have the first disk; the expansions are all downloading nicely over the Internet automatically.
Justin: Did my Starcraft disk get left at your house? I know for a fact that it came home with me, because I was playing it up until 2 minutes before I left college. I'm trying to figure out if it got taken out before your party or during it, because the slot got emptied at some point before Xander infected saved my computer with Linux.

| Marshall: Yeah, Touhou is just a bunch of top-down shooters (twelve of them to be exact) plus some other spin-off games that were fighting games and one photography game. There's a bunch of other commercial works (manga, etc.) and countless doujins out there. It's not surprising how popular it is considering the rabid nature of the Japanese when it comes to magical girls and obnoxious bullet-hell games.
Ryan: The spell-checker is not on the forum, it's a Firefox feature, welcome to a not crappy internet browser. =D
Yeah, it shouldn't be too bad to download on the college internet, last time I was at a college and tested their connection speed I was getting 16 megabits sustained speed.
There's a lot more options than simply installing Works to open the file. For instance do some google searches on how to crack a protected word file. Try not to password protect document files directly, it's bad idea for many reasons. Instead, archive the file in a zip or 7-zip archive and put a password on the archive. This is much better, safer and more error tolerant.
Though, if you really need to open it in Works, jack a computer that has it (I'm sure you'll find plenty of them on campus), open up the file and remove the password or transfer the information to a different document. If it's sensitive information, don't worry about leaving a trace, since as long as it stays on just your flash drive, none should be left.
Check your messages on your cell phone, I left one saying that your Brood War disc was sitting on that desk I was using. When you called earlier that day I was still tired and blanked on that fact. I have it in my possession now.
And lastly, you know that all Blizzard games don't need their discs to play as long as you have a semi-recent patch right? It isn't a no-cd crack like you always are saying.

| Alright, I was just curious. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by that stuff anymore. For some reason I'm more surprised about that than Vocaloids being so popular (in general and with /u/).
Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll read some Touhou manga for teh lulz.

| ****, the forums just ate my post. I don't have time to retype it before class, but the main points are:
1) Sorry, my cell phone gets messages very, very erratically, and I haven't noticed your message coming in.
2) I'm aware it doesn't require a "crack," sorry for the lingual mix-up, but it does require a little more effort than merely having the latest patch (which I used to have). After trying unsuccessfully 3 times to get it to work w/out CD, I gave up; around the same time, my computer went crazy. It's probably just because I'm bad at it, and is completely unrelated, but I'm going to stay away from that for awhile.

Is it so hard to copy INSTALL.EXE and rename it to Starcraft.mpq?
Though I guess I've seen worse. Like trying to explain to Justin the difference between DirectX 10 and DirectX 9 and how only Vista can have DirectX 10 and so on.

| So...
Monday night my dad and I got in a fight about cleaning. He was going on one of his super obsessively anal cleaning sprees and expecting way too much from me.
And so there was yelling at whatnot, but he was getting super super pissed, more so than usual. Reggie started barking at us because he was afraid of all the yelling.
So what does my dad do? He takes the vacuum cleaner and throws it at Reggie.
Luckily Reggie dodged it fast enough, because it landed right where he was standing.
I then grab Reggie and take him to my room, and call Brentt in hysterics, because, well, that scared the fucking shit out of me.
My dad stood outside the door the whole time yelling at me about "whimpering and whining and not getting anything done."
Finally I came out to start cleaning and he started yelling at me again. And I not wanting to sit there and take it started arguing. He started telling me how I was a "lazy shit" and how he was "through with me and there was going to be hell to pay" and that he was going to "make my life a living hell". He had this crazy look in his eyes the whole time so it again scared the shit out of me and I retreated to my room and called Brentt who decided to come pick me up despite the fact that it was like 1 AM.
So I was at his house for all of Tuesday, which meant me having to call in to work. It was only a four hour shift so it wasn't that big of a deal.
Then last night after Brentt got home from work he brought me back home because I had work today, and I assured him that my dad would be calmed down by now.
Well, I was wrong. Literally the moment I walk in the door (at midnight) my dad starts screaming at me from his room, still sounding as fucking crazy as he did the night before.
So we swiftly turned around and went back to Brentt's house. I had to call in today, and this time instead of saying I was sick I explained the real situation and said I needed the rest of the week off because I just don't feel safe at home. Which... thats about 14 hours I'm losing out of the 25 I was scheduled for the week. My paycheck is going to be so tiny, and I still need to get Brentt a birthday present. :(
So yeah, theres whats happening in my fucked up life at the moment. Just thought I'd share. I'm going to be talking to my Grandma about living with her.
