This is a 4.0, level 7 Dungeons and Dragons Adventure.))
Adventure Recap: You arrived in the isolated coastal town of Ashenport in your acquired "pirate ship" when an extremely violent storm caused you to weigh anchor. After some discussion, the party was split in two: half the party explored town and spent the night at the local inn, while the other half stayed on the ship.
It was about two hours before dawn when a strange cry began to eminate from the sea, growing so loud as to drown out the sounds of the massive storm. For ten minutes it continued, charming all but the wizard Twitch into the sudden desire to throw themselves in the sea.
Fortunately, with some quick thinking, Twitch was able to free the Ranger, Adran, and the other Wizrd, Swik. The three of them managed to save all seven NPC guards who had fallen under the call from killing themselves.
Meanwhile, Sheddin, Butter, and Agrath had all fallen under the call of the sea, and were about to throw themselves overboard; they had nobody nearby to save them, as they had pulled up the gangplank for the night, and they were the only ones on the ship. However, in a strange twist of fate, the group was saved by the reappearance of "Polly," an advanced, mechanical parrot who easily re-established mental control over Agrath (he was vulnerable while under the call of the sea).
Polly sought to salvage the lives of Sheddin and Butter for unknown reasons, although it is suspected that Polly thought it would need them alive to pilot the ship. Whatever the cause, after a gruesome battle, Sheddin managed to rip Polly free Agrath, who regained control of his body. Just as things were looking up, Polly escaped from Sheddin's grasp and flew out into the storm, only to meet with heavy winds and fall straight into the churning sea. Perhaps that is the last the group will so of the mysterious "Polly;" they certainly hope so.
((all players earned 1000 experiance for their efforts (300 exp. for their respective encounters and 700 bonus experiance for saving all 7 NPC guards). Now, Twitch, Adran, and Swik are back at the inn with the guards, and Sheddin, Butter, and Agrath are still aboard the boat. It is roughly one and a half hours before dawn.
